Moogly Crochet-Along

For the past few months, I've been following along the Moogly Crochet-Along (check it out here!).  Twice a month, the author of the Moogly Blog, Tamara Kelly, posts a granny square designed by one of her blogging friends, along with tips and hints to complete it.  If you've never done a CAL, this is a fantastic one to start with!  It's actually my first time doing a CAL, and I'm hooked!  (...get it?!)

So here's my first square...

Block #2...

Block #3...
Block #4...

and the most recent one is Block #5.  The original Block #5 wasn't exactly my cup of tea, and according to Tamara from Moogly, that's perfectly ok!  In every new block post, she includes a list of additional blocks just in case you're not a fan of the one listed.  So below is what I choose for my Block #5...

So I definitely recommend you check out Moogly, it's an amazing crochet blog!  And it's not too late to join in the Moogly CAL!!

Until next time, happy crocheting!
Cheers!

WIP...

As those of you in the crafting world know, WIP stands for Work In Progress, meaning a project that you've started.  More often than not it's a project that you started, then put aside when you discovered another project.  Eventually you end up with quite a few just started, half done, almost done projects.

I hate to admit it, but this blog is also a WIP.  When I started this blog, I was searching for a career.  I had graduated from college with a Bachelor of Science degree and had no idea what to do with it.  After graduation I had gotten a job managing a quaint novelty/candy store in a seaside town near where I lived.  It was fun, cute and I got to be creative, but it wasn't enough...

I then got swept up in a whirlwind of changes!  I became a teacher and an EMT pretty much all at once.  So, I've spent the past two years, teaching and volunteering as an EMT.  While this blog may have gotten pushed aside, I certainly didn't let knitting, crocheting and sewing!  Through the ups and the downs (a lot of downs... in fact, mostly downs...), knitting and crocheting were what kept me going!

So, now I'm back at it and here's hoping this WIP won't get put aside again!
Comment below and tell me about your WIPs!

Missing Stitches

I've been thinking about starting a blog for awhile, I mean why not, right?  What was tripping me up the most though was what to call it.  Last night I came up with "Missing Stitches".  I wanted my blog title to encompass what I love doing: knitting, crocheting and sewing (among other things) and a sentiment about life.  So "Missing Stitches" is a frustrating mistake in the needle (& hook) crafts, and mistakes happen in life; it all seemed to fit.

So, here goes nothing... And hopefully I don't miss too many stitches along the way!
